Now is the time to take an hour during your weekend to check your home and office for some basic safety checks.
- Furnace filters top the list, especially during this Year of Covid-19. Change them out and mark the date on the filter. Then set a reminder on a phone app or calendar to replace them again in one month. Since you have the grate open you can also check if there is anything that has been pushed up against the intake that would reduce air flow? Clean the grate of dust and grime and check the hinges for proper fit.
- Fire Extinguisher. Do you have one in your kitchen? Or the office break room? You can buy one for as low as $16 and the prices go up from there.
